Job summary

Applebee’s host/hostess at TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants is responsible for greeting guests, seating them, and managing waiting areas to ensure smooth dining room flow and excellent service.

You will work with the team to keep the host stand clean, assist servers, and support opening and closing procedures while adhering to safety and cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests as they enter and depart the restaurant.

• Keep host/hostess stand and waiting area clean.
• Ensure menus remain clean and stocked.
• Complete restroom checks and refill supplies in bathrooms, as needed.
• Sanitize and wipe down all tables and sweep the area as needed and resets the table.
• Assist the servers when needed by taking the initial drink order or running food to the guests in the dining room.
• Complete daily opening and closing work to ensure a clean and safe environment for guests and TEAM.

Position Summary

TSFR Applebee’s host/hostess primary responsibility is to Delight our Guests by greeting arriving and acknowledging departing guests as well as seating them in a friendly manner, and assisting with maintaining the overall guest flow of the restaurant. In doing this, the host/hostess will maximize the dining room space and server effectiveness. The host fosters a culture aligned with the TSFR Roadmap, including Our Core Purpose, Vision, Mission and Core Values.

Essential Job Functions

Primary Duties

• Greet all guests as they enter and depart the restaurant and hold the door open for guests
• Seat guests according to the established plan and guests’ needs
• Keep host/hostess stand and waiting area clean
• Ensure menu’s remain clean and stocked
• Complete restroom checks and refill paper products in bathrooms, as needed
• Sanitize and wipe down all tables and sweep the area as needed and resets the table
• Assist the servers when needed by taking the initial drink order or running food to the guests in the dining room
• Complete daily opening and closing work to ensure a clean and safe environment for guests and TEAM

Educational / Experience

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work as a TEAM

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
