Senior Project Engineer Cable Installation

Offshore Wind & Subsea Power Cables
Location: The Netherlands / Germany / UK
Full-time | €4,000 – €6,000

For an internationally operating offshore contractor, we are looking for a Senior Project Engineer with proven experience in subsea power cable installation (33kV / 66kV and above).

The Company

Our client is a specialized contractor in submarine power cable and subsea umbilical installation, repair and maintenance. They operate globally across offshore oil & gas and offshore wind.

You will join a technically strong, growing team in Germany within an international project environment. Communication lines are short, engineering depth is high, and technical ownership is expected.

The Role

As Senior Project Engineer, you are part of the Engineering Department and responsible for delivering installation engineering from tender phase through offshore execution.

You act as the senior technical counterpart to the Project Manager and play a direct role in safe and efficient offshore execution.

Your Responsibilities

Technical & Engineering Scope

• Develop installation methodologies and procedures for cable and umbilical projects
• Define vessel spreads and equipment selection
• Prepare and respond to Technical Queries (TQs) and RFIs
• Perform or review engineering calculations
• Prepare task risk assessments and installation documentation
• Produce project-specific drawings and engineering plans (AutoCAD)

Project Execution Support

• Support offshore preparation and execution phases
• Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
• Identify technical risks and propose mitigation measures
• Support operational teams during offshore campaigns

Leadership & Coordination

• Coordinate and supervise Project Engineers within assigned projects
• Review subcontractor scopes and evaluate technical proposals
• Contribute to schedule planning and execution strategies
• Improve engineering procedures and working methods

Your Profile

• BSc or MSc in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Marine or similar)
• Minimum 5 years of offshore engineering experience
• Proven experience with subsea power cables (33kV / 66kV systems)
• Strong background in cable installation engineering
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Analytical, structured and decisive
• Natural team lead with mentoring capability
• Offshore mindset: practical, safety-driven and solution-oriented

An established offshore network is considered a strong advantage.
