Job summary

The University of Amsterdam invites applications for a 0.5 FTE, 1-year research position in health data law. You will map EU and Dutch rules on sharing genomic data, compare consent approaches, and develop interview guides.

You will conduct interviews with policymakers, data stewards, and researchers, and integrate findings into an academic work and a policy brief. Excellent written and spoken English is required; Dutch proficiency is a strong advantage.

Qualifications

• PhD in Law preferred; strong research experience.
• English writing and speaking excellence required; Dutch proficiency a strong advantage.
• Experience with health law, data protection, EU law, or qualitative interviews is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Map EU and Dutch rules for sharing genomic and sensitive health data.
• Compare opt-in, opt-out and hybrid approaches and their implications for research, privacy, fairness and public trust.
• Develop interview guides and clear scenarios for discussions with stakeholder groups.
• Conduct and analyse interviews with policymakers, data stewards, researchers, and patient/community representatives.
• Synthesize findings into academic writing and a policy brief; contribute to related health law work.
• Collaborate with the Law Center for Health and Life and the DDT initiative.
