Job summary

GKR Search and Selection is recruiting for a market-leading regional aircraft leasing firm in Amsterdam seeking a Head of Technical to lead the technical function, oversee asset management, lease transitions, compliance, and supplier relationships.

The successful candidate will protect fleet value, drive operational standards, manage a high-performing team, and steer technical input for remarketing and forecasting, with extensive travel and English proficiency.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years’ experience in aircraft leasing or airline technical operations.
• In-depth knowledge of aircraft maintenance, lease transitions, and related financial and legal considerations.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage cross-functional stakeholders.
• Excellent English communication; Dutch or other languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build, organise, and lead the Technical Department.
• Coach and mentor team members to enhance technical expertise and leadership.
• Oversee lease turnaround projects, including technical terms and audits.
• Manage fleet data, maintenance reserves, invoicing, and cross-border registrations.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of technical records in compliance with international standards.
• Provide technical input for aircraft remarketing and forecasting.
• Implement and maintain IT systems for technical data management.
• Develop strong relationships with airlines and partners; negotiate long-term agreements.
• Manage external consultants for specific projects.
