Job summary

Caely Renewables in Amsterdam seeks a Head of Risk to design and lead the end-to-end risk management framework for trading activities across renewables certificates and other commodity-linked instruments.

You will drive risk analytics, stress testing, VaR analysis, and limit setting while collaborating with trading, quant, and technology teams to enable scalable, profitable trading in volatile energy markets.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Energy Management, or a related field
Experience with VaR analysis
5–10 years of commodity or renewable energy trading experience, with exposure to European wholesale energy markets
Demonstrated leadership in fast-paced environments
Fluency in English; other European languages a plus

Responsibilities

Design and enforce risk limits and monitoring across trading activities
Lead real-time exposure monitoring and risk analytics enhancements
Collaborate with traders, researchers, and senior leadership to support decision-making
Ensure regulatory compliance and robust risk infrastructure
