Job summary

Protolabs is seeking an Engineering Manager, Pricing to lead a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the pricing engine and supporting services. You will shape the enterprise pricing capability, drive strategic pricing models, and advance LLM-powered pricing capabilities across factory and network fulfillment.

The role requires strong leadership in software engineering and applied ML, with a focus on scalable, governance-driven pricing systems across multiple service lines.

Qualifications

• Experience in pricing strategy or revenue management.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
• Strong cross-functional partnership skills across pricing analysts, service lines, and leadership.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-based or applied ML capabilities in production.
• Solid software engineering background with scalable, rules-based or model-driven systems.
• 5+ years leading and managing software engineering teams.
• Experience across multiple business lines or customer segments.
• Proven ability to build and operate enterprise-grade pricing capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers, applied ML engineers, and technical product managers for pricing engine and services.
• Define and manage the capability and multi-year roadmap for the pricing engine.
• Guide problem analysis, design, development, and testing of pricing capabilities.
• Develop and govern LLM-based capabilities to support pricing strategy and decisioning.
• Ensure enterprise-wide consistency and governance of pricing logic and services.
• Set priorities, manage projects, and provide day-to-day technical direction.
• Hire, mentor, and develop staff across engineering and ML disciplines.
• Monitor quality and drive continuous improvement of pricing accuracy and margin outcomes.
