Job summary

Michael Page represents an internationally operating organization in the healthcare technology sector, seeking a Head of Financial Accounting to lead the accounting function across Europe. The role focuses on statutory reporting, VAT and tax compliance, and strong governance.

You will oversee A/P, A/R, GL and consolidation, drive improvements, work with external auditors and multi-entity structures, and report to executive management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Extensive leadership experience within an international accounting, finance or shared services environment.
• Strong technical expertise in financial accounting, treasury, statutory reporting, VAT and tax compliance.
• Proven track record in managing external audits and multi-entity accounting operations.
• Experience within a matrix or multinational organisation is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of financial planning and analysis activities is considered an advantage.
• Fluent Dutch and English language skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Manage treasury operations, including cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, foreign currency exposure and payment processes.
• Safeguard compliance with accounting standards, VAT regulations, corporate tax requirements and payroll accounting obligations.
• Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax authorities and financial institutions.
• Provide financial insights, reporting packages and analysis to executive management and international stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives relating to accounting processes, internal controls and financial governance frameworks.
