Job summary

Brainbay, a data-driven technology company in the Dutch real estate sector, is seeking a Head of Engineering. You will lead an international team of about 20 data, front-end and back-end engineers, align them with agile practices, and advance our vision for engineering in the age of Generative AI.

Reporting to the CTO, you’ll blend hands-on technical leadership with people management, shape engineering standards, support hiring, and nurture growth and wellbeing across the teams in a hybrid

Qualifications

• Strong leadership with experience in engineering teams.
• Proven ability to manage stakeholders and align engineering goals.
• Good understanding of agile principles and software development lifecycle.
• Experience applying Generative AI in SDLC is desirable.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
• Based in the Netherlands at time of applying.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop data, front-end and back-end engineers.
• Provide technical leadership to set and maintain engineering standards, including Generative AI guardrails.
• Foster ownership and knowledge sharing across Scrum teams.
• Support hiring and onboarding to grow an international, diverse engineering team.
• Collaborate with CTO and management to shape technical direction and architecture.
