Job summary

Brainbay, a data-driven technology company in the Dutch real estate sector, is hiring a Head of Engineering in Utrecht. You will lead an international team of around 20 data, front-end and back-end engineers, shaping how we apply modern engineering practices and Generative AI across products.

Reporting to the CTO, you’ll blend hands-on technical leadership with people management, foster a culture of ownership, and partner with management to set technical direction and security standards.

Qualifications

BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
Good understanding of agile principles.
Experience in Information Security, Architecture or Generative AI in SDLC is a plus.
Fluent in Dutch and English; residing in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop data, front-end and back-end engineers.
Set and maintain engineering standards, including AI guardrails.
Foster ownership, feedback culture, and knowledge sharing across Scrum teams.
Support hiring and onboarding for an international, diverse team.
Shape technical direction with CTO and management, including security and architecture.
