Job summary

Seequent in Delft, Netherlands, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead a team responsible for designing, developing and delivering complex user-facing cloud applications. The role blends hands-on coding with architecture and code reviews, plus people and project leadership.

You will drive design excellence, mentor engineers, and ensure security, performance and scalable solutions. This hybrid role requires strong communication and Agile/CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 7+ years of relevant software engineering experience, including experience as a Senior Software Engineer.
• 1+ years of formal people management experience with direct reports.
• Proven full-stack experience delivering user-facing web applications with frontend and backend development (Python and/or React).
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture and scalable, reliable applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of complex, user-facing cloud applications.
• Provide architectural guidance, evaluate design alternatives, and ensure security and performance requirements.
• Remain hands-on with daily coding and code reviews to uphold quality standards.
• Provide operational direction, allocate work, and support team delivery.
• Coach team members and drive performance and development discussions for direct reports.
• Lead medium-scale projects from definition to completion using appropriate project management methods.
• Manage project risks and change controls and align with governance and business priorities.
• Communicate with cross-functional stakeholders and monitor delivery against quality standards, budgets, timelines, and metrics.
