Job summary

Seequent is seeking a Team Lead, Software Engineering in Delft, Netherlands, offering hybrid work with two days in the Delft office. You will lead a team delivering complex user-facing cloud applications, while remaining hands-on in coding and reviews.

The role requires a Bachelors in CS or related field, 7+ years in software engineering (Senior), plus 1+ year of people-management experience. Strong Python/React, cloud, and DB expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience including Senior role.
• 1+ years of formal people management with direct reports.
• Proven full-stack experience with Python and/or React.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture and scalable apps.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Proven ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and maintain high code quality.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-influencing skills in Agile/Scrum and CI/CD environments.

We operate in 145+ countries while proudly maintaining headquarters in New Zealand. **The Role** Reporting to the Manager, Software Engineering, this role leads a team of technical professionals in Delft, Netherlands, working closely with product, design, and research partners to design, develop, and deliver complex user-facing cloud applications. The role combines hands-on senior technical leadership in coding, architecture, and code reviews with people and project leadership. **In this role, you will have the opportunity to:** * Lead the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of complex, user-facing cloud applications.* Provide architectural guidance, evaluate design alternatives and trade-offs, and ensure solutions meet functional, non-functional, and security requirements.* Remain hands-on with daily coding and code reviews, setting a high standard for quality across the team's technologies.* Provide operational direction, allocate work in line with team objectives and individual capabilities, and support effective team delivery.* Coach team members, facilitate strong working relationships, and contribute to performance and development discussions for direct reports.* Lead medium-scale projects from definition through completion using appropriate project management methods and tools.* Manage project risks and change controls while ensuring alignment with governance frameworks and business priorities.* Communicate with cross-functional stakeholders and monitor delivery against agreed quality standards, budgets, timelines, and performance measures.**To be successful in this role, you should have:** * Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent field.* 7+ years of relevant software engineering experience, including experience as a Senior Software Engineer.* 1+ years of formal people management experience with direct reports.* Proven full-stack experience delivering user-facing web applications, with hands-on expertise in frontend and backend development and a preference for Python and/or React.* Strong understanding of cloud architecture and best practices for building scalable, reliable applications.* Experience with relational and non-relational databases, such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.* Proven ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in complex applications and to maintain high standards through code reviews.* Strong communication and stakeholder-influencing skills, with experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and with CI/CD pipelines.**Additional Information** Hybrid work from the local office 2 days a week and home-based the remainder of the week.#LI-DM1 **Our Commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion** At Seequent, we champion the uniqueness of each individual.
