Job summary

Swissport Amsterdam B.V. is seeking a hands-on Fleet Manager to own the GSE fleet, ensuring maximum availability, safety and efficiency for on-ground aircraft handling operations.

You will be the primary contact for station management and external maintenance providers while combining operational oversight with asset management expertise. You will lead the Fleet Coordinator, coordinate maintenance partners and manage budgets, ensuring clear administration, reporting and compliance across 24/7

Qualifications

• Proven experience in ground handling, technical operations or fleet/asset management.
• Strong leadership skills with operational awareness.
• Structured, analytical and process-driven mindset.
• Experience with maintenance systems and asset planning tools.
• Decisiveness under operational pressure in a 24/7 environment.
• Solid understanding of safety standards and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Safeguarding availability and operational readiness of the entire GSE fleet.
• Leading and coaching the Fleet Coordinator.
• Managing maintenance companies and suppliers.
• Planning and controlling preventive and corrective maintenance (e.g. via Maximo).
• Reducing damage and misuse through clear instructions and active follow-up.
• Managing relationships and SLAs with maintenance partners.
• Controlling GSE budgets and preparing business cases for additional equipment.
• Ensuring accurate administration, reporting and invoice approval.
• Driving safety compliance, incident investigations and procedural adherence.
