MedIT Solutions invites applications for a 6-month (Graduation) Internship in Software Development. This hands-on role lets you work with desktop, web, mobile apps, dashboards or REST APIs under the guidance of senior engineers.

You will contribute within an agile team, applying C# or Java, data modeling for SQL databases, and using MS Visual Studio. Remote work is negotiable and international students are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related technical field.
• Experience in one area of computer science/software development.
• Ability to communicate in Dutch or English fluently. Papiamentu is a plus.

Introduction:

This is an exciting opportunity to enhance your existing skillset and gain technical knowledge and experience by working alongside highly skilled & experienced senior software engineers.

Throughout the placement, you will be delivering a series of software functionalities such as desktop applications, web applications, mobile apps, dashboards or REST API's aimed at enhancing the capabilities of existing products, with the scope to help define the technical solution, under guidance from your colleagues.

This is a hands on role, gaining exposure to all elements of the agile software and product development lifecycle, adopting the latest industry standard tools and technologies stacks.

Job Context:

• Exposure to good engineering practices to design and implement new features for existing products.
• Analyze scope and requirements, identify and solve problems.
• Develop skills to provide innovative solutions to technical problems.
• Work with-in an agile multi-disciplined team.
• Apply knowledge in the C# language to solve real-world problems.

The role will be based in Curacao. with some level of working from home negotiable. International students can participate in the internship program by following an adapted process that includes remote interviews, visa arrangements, and potential remote work opportunities. We are hoping to achieve a diverse and enriching internship experience for students from various backgrounds.

Skills:

• Analyze the scope and requirements.
• Interpret and/or contribute to requirements and specifications.
• Work with other engineers to design, develop, test, and debug systems.
• Documentation skills to be able to articulate and record design decisions and technical aspects of the work packages developed.
• C# or Java programming languages.
• Data modeling techniques for SQL databases.
• Technical documentation.
• Basic understanding of testing and debugging. MS Visual Studio is preferred.
• Methodical approach to problem solving.
• Capable of driving ideas/projects forward.
• Able to work effectively to meet agreed timescales having considered and planned the project activities.
• Well organized.
• Proactive.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in Dutch or English.
• Good interpersonal skills with a pleasant and can-do attitude.
