Job summary

Van Oord invites a graduation internship in Tender & Engineering to explore rock installation and future equipment design. The project spans Gorinchem for simulations and Moerdijk for scale testing, collaborating with specialists and translating results into engineering parameters.

You will join a team focused on improving subsea rock installation knowledge, with opportunities to learn from experienced colleagues and contribute to offshore wind and subsea projects.

Qualifications

• Master student in Civil Engineering with an interest in subsea engineering and offshore installation.
• Analytical approach to technical or project-related challenges.
• Ability to structure research and communicate clear conclusions.
• Self-driven and capable of working independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Investigate interaction between rock grading and subsea installation equipment.
• Use DEM, possibly with CFD, to study rock behaviour and particle-fluid interactions.
• Design, execute and analyse scale model tests to validate simulations.
• Assess different rock sizes, shapes and gradings and their effect on installation behaviour.
• Translate research findings into parameters or recommendations for future engineering designs.
