Job summary

Henkel seeks a Process Safety Engineering Manager to lead the global process safety strategy, driving risk assessment and safe growth across its manufacturing network. You will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, SHE, and project teams to strengthen safety performance and foster a strong safety culture.

You will oversee hazard analyses (HAZOP, LOPA, Bowtie, FMEA, QRA), evaluate reaction hazards, and ensure safe design throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related field.
• 12+ years in chemical process engineering, safety, and manufacturing.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing, petrochemicals, refining, or pharma.
• Deep knowledge of HAZOP, LOPA, Bowtie, FMEA, and QRA.
• Experience with safety instrumented systems and relief/vent design.
• Proven leadership in global or multi-site environments.
• Professional certifications in process safety are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Promote a world-class process safety culture across global teams.
• Establish and improve company-wide process safety standards and governance.
• Serve as global subject matter expert for process safety and major accident prevention.
• Lead process hazard identification and risk assessment activities (HAZOP, LOPA, Bowtie, FMEA, QRA).
• Evaluate chemical reaction hazards, thermal stability, and explosion risks.
• Review new processes and projects to ensure safe design principles are applied.
• Provide assurance through audits and compliance reviews.
• Partner with leadership to identify risks and drive improvements.
• Develop and deliver process safety training and awareness programs.
• Monitor regulatory developments and industry best practices.
