Job summary

Vanderlande in Veghel, Netherlands, is seeking a Senior PLC Engineer to join the Airports Engineering team. You will translate project needs into standardized tooling, own developments, and support on-site commissioning and testing across international projects.

The role emphasizes cost of execution, quality, and handover readiness. You will work with Atlassian and Polarion, collaborate across engineering and technology teams, and travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• HBO in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Computer Science or Controls Technology.
• This vacancy is intended for senior engineers.
• Strong analytical skills and proactive, hands-on attitude.
• Ability to provide feedback and best practices to improve products.
• Strong communication, regular progress reporting.
• Experience creating and improving standard ways of working.
• Comfortable working with different departments and project locations.
• Experience managing deadlines and milestones.
• Knowledge of PLC applications (TIA Portal).
• Interest in productivity tooling based on XML input files.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of time.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good command of English.

Responsibilities

• Translate project requirements into the project library and tooling.
• Take ownership of developments and support on-site commissioning and final testing.
• Advise and support project teams to set up engineering environments with quality standards.
• Ensure systems are delivered in a controlled manner and ready for handover to Service teams.
• Utilize Atlassian and Polarion tooling in project workflows.
