Job summary

Rhythm Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist, International, to deliver accurate payroll across international markets with a focus on EU countries. You will lead end-to-end processing, work with local providers, and ensure GDPR and cross-border compliance while driving process improvements.

The role leverages your 4+ years of multi-country payroll experience and your ability to partner with HR, Finance, and external vendors in a hybrid Netherlands-based setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of progressive payroll experience with multi-country international payroll experience (EU focus preferred).
• Experience collaborating with third party in-country payroll vendors and cross-functional partners.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, discretion, and ability to meet payroll deadlines.
• Knowledge of European payroll compliance, GDPR requirements, and statutory filings.
• Exposure to cross-border compensation and equity withholding, or mobile employee payroll.
• Experience with payroll systems, HRIS, reporting tools, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage accurate and timely monthly payroll and operations for assigned countries in the international portfolio.
• Prepare, validate, and reconcile payroll inputs including hires, changes, compensation, benefits, and terminations.
• Ensure strict payroll compliance with local laws, tax, social security, reporting, and data privacy.
• Partner with in-country payroll providers, local authorities, HR, and Finance to resolve issues.
• Support account reconciliations, audits, documentation, and payroll reporting.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, controls, and automation.
• Assist in testing and implementing payroll system enhancements and year-end reporting.
• Perform ad hoc projects to support global business growth.
