Job summary

Payter B.V. is seeking a hands-on engineering leader to shape the technical direction, mentor engineers, and deliver cloud-native payment platform solutions. You will own ADRs, coding standards, and agile practices across cross-functional squads.

The role focuses on building high-performance microservices in Go and Java, Angular interfaces, and secure infrastructure on GCP with Kubernetes, CI/CD and IaC. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a tech lead or staff engineer capacity.
• Proven production-grade experience with Go and Java for distributed systems and microservices.
• Deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript with hands-on Angular experience.
• Experience running cloud-native systems on major clouds (GCP preferred) and Kubernetes.
• Led CI/CD pipelines with DevOps/GitOps and IaC tooling (Terraform).
• Ability to lead projects end-to-end and translate tech concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka, NATS), GraphQL design, and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction of cross-functional squads, owning architectural decisions (ADRs) and defining coding standards and agile best practices.
• Design and build high-performance microservices (Go, Java) and AI-driven web interfaces (Angular) using clean architecture.
• Architect and manage secure, cloud-native infrastructure (GCP, Kubernetes) and drive IaC and CI/CD pipelines.
• Optimize system performance across SQL/NoSQL databases and ensure platform reliability via testing, observability, and zero-trust security.
• Mentor and coach engineers while partnering with Product Managers to translate business needs into scalable tech solutions.
