Job summary

Brivo is seeking a mid-level Network Engineer to own the global data center backbone, driving architecture and security for our cloud platform from Amsterdam. You’ll design, implement, and optimize networking across continents, collaborating with Infrastructure, SRE, and Dev teams, and growing into broader infra leadership.

You will work in a 5-day in-office role, with hands-on tasks in routing, firewalling, automation, and observability using Python, Ansible, Prometheus, and Grafana.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer with Juniper EVPN-VXLAN, advanced routing, and enterprise firewalls.
• Working knowledge of core routing protocols BGP/IPSec for scaling global data center networks.
• Strong proficiency in Linux and proven ability to automate tasks using Python, Bash, or Ansible.
• Experience with Prometheus and Grafana for proactive network monitoring and actionable insights.
• Experience in configuring firewalls and implementing network security best practices.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex network and infrastructure issues.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to data centers for on-site deployments and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Implement, optimize, and scale the global data center backbone for high availability and security.
• Contribute to the Juniper EVPN-VXLAN fabric for scalable overlay networks in our cloud environment.
• Configure and manage routing protocols (BGP, IPSec) for resilient global connectivity.
• Configure and maintain enterprise firewalls (Fortinet or similar).
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, SRE, and Development teams to integrate networking with compute, storage and cloud systems (Kubernetes/Ceph).
• Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python, Bash, Ansible) to streamline provisioning and scale.
• Utilize Prometheus and Grafana for infrastructure observability and monitoring.
• Provide effective troubleshooting and resolution for network incidents.
