Job summary

Mediq, a leading European healthcare company, seeks an International Trader to build and run a dedicated international sales channel for excess and surplus inventory across European markets. You will locate buyers, negotiate and close deals, and be measured by value recovered rather than activity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in commercial economics, business administration, international trade or a related field.
• 5–10 years of international B2B sales, export or trading experience with a track record of personally closing cross-border deals.
• Experience with medical devices, medical consumables or pharmaceutical distribution is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Build and run the international sales strategy for Mediq's excess and surplus inventory.
• Build a qualified international buyer network across distributors, traders, brokers, NGOs and humanitarian buyers, emerging markets, auction platforms and other channels.
• Open new geographies and routes to market for medical devices and consumables.
• Sell primarily outside Mediq's operating markets to protect existing channels and pricing.
• Manage stock as the commercial deal pipeline and prioritize high-value opportunities.
• Choose and execute direct sale, bundles, auction, supplier return or donation as appropriate.
• Set and execute pricing within the mandate and thresholds.
• Negotiate price, delivery terms, Incoterms and payment security with international buyers.
• Prepare clear cases when deals fall outside mandate for quick decisions.
• Collaborate with markets, S&OP, Sourcing and Finance to list eligible stock quickly.
• Report monthly on pipeline, revenue, value recovered, margin, lead time and risks.
• Feed learnings back into S&OP to prevent stock rebound.
