Job summary

Robin Radar Systems is seeking a Legal & Compliance Director to lead our legal strategy and enable global growth while safeguarding our business. Reporting to the CFO, you will work with Commercial, Operations, HR, and R&D teams on international expansion and risk mitigation in defense and civil aviation markets.

You will oversee contracting, export controls (EU, US ITAR/EAR), governance, IP protection, and audits, while mentoring the legal team. A LL.M.

Qualifications

• LL.M. degree in International, Commercial, or Corporate Law.
• 10+ years of progressive legal and compliance leadership experience.
• Background in high-tech, aerospace, defense, dual-use technology, or complex B2B sectors.
• Proven expertise structuring high-value international contracts, tender responses, and defense terms.
• Strong track record managing EU dual-use and US ITAR/EAR export control regimes.
• Solid knowledge of corporate legal operations, ISO standards, and health and safety frameworks.
• Excellent communicator with strong executive presence and experience advising C-suite leaders.
• Commercial mindset that enables business while managing global risk.
• Willing to travel up to 10% to strategic partners and expansion sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead legal strategy and high-stakes contract negotiations for international sales, government tenders, and strategic partner agreements.
• Oversee international trade frameworks across EU, US (ITAR/EAR), and global export control regimes.
• Drive internal governance frameworks and support compliance across ISO standards for quality, security, and environmental safety.
• Identify operational risks globally while safeguarding IP and technology assets; manage external counsel and audits.
• Advise CFO, Management Team, and Board on negotiations and regulatory changes; mentor the legal/compliance teams.
