Job summary

Artsen zonder Grenzen Nederland is seeking an Accounting Officer in Amsterdam to manage day-to-day finance operations, including payables, receivables, and month-end close. You will interact with suppliers, MSF sections, and staff to ensure accurate financial control.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, problem solving, and independent work, with a hybrid office setup and a Dutch employment contract for 40 hours per week. Fluency in Dutch and English is preferred.

Qualifications

• Good accounting knowledge on a middle educational level (MBO+ or HBO).
• At least three years’ working experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, administration, or related field.
• Working knowledge with Office 365/Dynamics is preferred.
• Enjoying hands-on administrative work.
• Able to work independently and being a problem solver.
• Preferably fluency in written and spoken Dutch. English is required.

Responsibilities

• Process general accounting transactions including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Assist with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Support domestic and international payments, bank transfers, and cash/expenses disbursement.
• Maintain chart of accounts and procedures; monitor compliance.
• Collaborate with banks and internal staff to resolve queries and improve processes.
