Job summary

BauWatch Nederland is seeking a Senior Financial Controller to join the Group Finance team. You will own complex financial reporting, consolidate the Group, and safeguard the quality of reporting across Europe, translating accounting expertise into practical solutions.

You will lead cross-functional projects in Accounting, FP&A, Tax and Treasury, coach finance teams, and drive internal controls and process improvements within a dynamic international organisation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Economics.
• Approximately 5 years of experience in financial control, accounting or external audit.
• Big Four experience is a strong advantage.
• RA, ACCA or CPA qualification is a plus but not required.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS and consolidated reporting.
• Experience in an international multi-entity environment.
• Strong analytical skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Excellent communication skills and fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary sparring partner for the Group Accounting Manager on complex accounting topics.
• Coach finance colleagues across Europe.
• Lead cross-functional finance projects involving Accounting, FP&A, Tax and Treasury.
• Support strategic finance initiatives that further professionalise the Group Finance organisation.
• Own the monthly, quarterly and annual Group closing and consolidation process.
• Safeguard the quality, accuracy and timeliness of Group financial reporting.
• Prepare and review complex accounting positions and ensure consistent application of Group Accounting Policies and IFRS.
• Support the preparation and review of statutory financial statements.
• Act as the technical accounting expert for the Group Finance organisation.
• Continuously improve the Group's internal financial control framework.
• Coordinate the annual external audit and resolve technical accounting matters with external auditors.
• Translate new accounting developments into practical Group policies and processes.
