Job summary

JDE Peet’s in Utrecht is seeking an experienced Global CAPEX Procurement Manager to lead sourcing and commercial strategy for major investment projects. You will partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, R&D and regional procurement to shape requirements and drive value beyond price.

The role requires engineering credibility, hands-on CAPEX project experience, and a global mindset to manage a €150M portfolio with autonomy and strong governance.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or deep engineering background.
• Hands-on experience with industrial CAPEX projects.
• Ability to translate engineering requirements into sourcing strategies.
• Experience managing complex, high-value CAPEX projects with multiple technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of CAPEX contracting: warranties, LDs, change orders, lifecycle cost.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing strategy and execution for complex, high-value global CAPEX projects from early concept and specification through supplier selection, contracting, execution and project close-out.
• Support regional CAPEX projects by providing category strategy, technical-commercial challenge, supplier intelligence, contracting standards, negotiation support and governance.
• Partner with Engineering, Design and Project Management teams early in the project lifecycle to shape sourcing strategy, challenge specifications and identify value-engineering opportunities.
• Translate technical project requirements into robust commercial packages, ensuring clear scope definition, deliverables, interfaces, responsibilities, milestones and acceptance criteria.
• Assess suppliers on technical capability, engineering quality, project execution track record, capacity, service model, total cost of ownership and risk.
• Lead complex negotiations and contracting covering performance guarantees, FAT/SAT, commissioning, warranties, liquidated damages, milestone payments, retention, change-order mechanisms, intellectual property, spare parts, lifecycle cost and supplier liabilities.
