A well-established Japanese trading house is currently looking for a German Speaking Metal Trader to join their growing Metal Recycling & Primary Metals Dept. Based in their Amsterdam Branch this role will ideally suit those with 2 years of sales experience. This position requires about 30% business travel per month. Details

• Type: Full-time 12-month contract to start, to become permanent
• Working hours: 9:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday; Hybrid working style, currently 3 days a week in office
• Salary: up to €4,000 per month depending on experience + Bonus (2 times per year) + Holiday allowance
• Benefit: 24 days annual leave, travel fee, health insurance
• Start: Negotiable
• Location: Amsterdam - the Netherlands
• Travel: ~30% business travel per month

Responsibilities

• Dealing with Non-Ferrous metal recycling and its primary metal in worldwide market
• Handling customers through purchase to sales in all aspects of business, i.e. marketing, visiting, quality checking, pricing, negotiation for purchase & sales, managing documentation, payments & profit calculation
• Taking care of existing customers & developing new customers, new item, business schemes & new flow of business in various countries
• Resolving customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, & making recommendations
• Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Reporting to management by submitting daily activities & own analytical thought

Skills/Qualifications

• Ability to speak both English & German
• Right to work (e.g. EU nationality, Dutch work permit)
• Minimum Bachelor’s or equivalent
• EU Driving license
• 2+ years of experience in sales field would be advantageous
• Experienced in other company for at least 2 years would be advantageous
• Client relationships, communication skills for various types & nationalities of people & customers, negotiation skills/power, translation skills, closing skills, self-confidence, self-motivation, toughness for hard work and travels, & presentation skills

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of international trading (Shipping, Incoterms etc.)
• Japanese is not mandatory, but interest in Japanese culture is preferred
• Personality inclined to travel to different countries is advantageous
• Serious but able to have fun
