Job summary

Unifyrecruitment seeks a German-speaking emergency helpline employee for a full-time role in the Amsterdam area. You will provide initial care by phone, assess care needs, and coordinate with medical specialists and authorities.

The role requires calm under pressure, strong communication, and the ability to work in rotating shifts around the clock. You should have an MBO-4 education or higher, experience in emergency or healthcare settings, and English B2 and German C2 language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming reports and requests, assess necessity and urgency and set priorities.

• Maintain composure under stress and provide clear, empathetic guidance.
• Work in shifts; schedule known weeks in advance.

In this challenging and dynamic position you will be faced with various issues and situations every day that sometimes change in a few seconds.

You provide initial care on the Emergency Helpline (by telephone). You are responsible for assessing the necessary care and handling it. You work closely with other colleagues at the medical specialists and/or authorities.

• You receive incoming reports and requests for help and assistance, assess them for necessity, urgency and set priorities;
• You alert units (relevant agency) and ensure that immediate assistance can be provided;
• You are responsible for the registration and logging of the incident progress;
• You manage and monitor the functionality of procedures, systems and equipment, consult on identified shortcomings and make proposals for improvement;
• You know how to keep a cool head and calm in every situation and you can also put things into perspective. You switch quickly, act appropriately and you are very resistant to stress.
• You never shy away from any challenge. No matter how often the phone rings, you are proactive and always ready, and together with your colleagues you know how to offer the best help and answer every question.
• At least an MBO-4 education – experience in an emergency environment or healthcare/medical sector or with children. First aid training is an advantage.
• Flexible availability, helpline is available 24/7. So you work in shifts. Schedule is known weeks in advance;
• A high sense of responsibility and empathy;
• You are eager to learn, show initiative, stress-resistant and work efficiently and quickly;
• Excellent communication and written skills – English B2 (fluent) and German C2;
• Willing to follow an internal (paid) training of 6/9 weeks;
• You get along well with different ICT systems;
• You live in the Amsterdam area (+/- 60km).
• Full-time job (40 hours);
• A gross monthly salary of €5,138 (excl. allowances and bonuses);
• 6/9 week training (paid);
• 7 months contract (intention to extend);
