Job summary

Onderwijsregio Hollands Noorden is seeking a geography teacher for Mavo/Havo classes, delivering geography in an accessible and practical way. You will coach pupils and guide their learning, with a focus on learning goals and collaboration with colleagues.

You bring a geography teaching qualification and a passion for making geography engaging. The role is a replacement 0.6 FTE, offering personal development opportunities and a supportive team.

Are you a passionate geography teacher who combines theory with practical assignments? Do you help students not only understand the basic principles of geography, but also help them understand the applications of the subject withindifferent contexts? Then we are looking for you!

We are looking for someone with a 1st (or 2nd) degree qualification with a fresh perspective on education and the subject of geography. Someone who can find their own way, but who also has the ambition to keep the education at a high level together with the subject section.You can function well in a team and not only show initiative but also know how to handle group work.

You get satisfaction and enjoyment from working with young people.

The student's learning process is central to you. Coaching the student on the educational process and being able to work towards learning goals are important principles for us. In addition to wanting to shape these principles, you are well-equipped in terms of subject matter (-didactics) and can take responsibility for your students' educational outcomes.

Job requirements

What will you do?

As a geography teacher, you teach our Mavo/Havo and/or Havo classes, passing on the subject in an accessible and practical way to the students. With your enthusiastic and inspiring teaching style, you ensure that thestudents develop.

As a teacher at our school, you perform various roles. Besides teaching as a subject teacher, you are also involved in guiding pupils as a coach. At least once every fortnight, you conduct a 15-minute coaching discussion with the student. In addition, you are a didactic coach and work with both summative and formative tests.
