Erasmus MC Genomics Core Facility (CoFa) is seeking a Genomics Specialist to serve as the scientific expert and advisor for genomics projects, supporting researchers in study design, technology implementation, and workflow optimization.

Join a team of 28 dedicated professionals delivering high-throughput genomics and collaborating across groups and consortia. The role offers a one-year contract with extension potential and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• PhD (or equivalent) in a life science discipline (molecular biology, genomics, biotechnology)
• Hands-on experience with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and array technologies
• Strong interest in technology development and method optimization
• Excellent communication and scientific advisory skills

Responsibilities

• Advising researchers on experimental design and genomics service selection
• Evaluating, implementing, and validating new genomics technologies and protocols
• Optimizing workflows, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining quality standards
• Developing SOPs and technical documentation
• Delivering training sessions and workshops for researchers
• Collaborating with operational and scientific teams across the facility
