Job summary

WLG in The Hague is hiring three software development engineers to deliver gap capability work packages on integrated command and control systems. The role mixes new build with modernising legacy software, in a normal office environment in The Hague.

You will develop server-side logic in Java and Python, design data schemas, and implement robust testing and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with Angular/React and container tech is required; knowledge of Hibernate, Protobufs, gRPC, Ansible, Kubernetes,

Qualifications

• Recent, hands-on experience across Java, Python and SQL.
• Comfort with Git, Jenkins or GitLab pipelines, and automated testing as a habit.
• Linux, plus Podman or Docker.
• Angular or React in production.
• Evidence you have taken on someone else’s legacy code and made it better.

Responsibilities

• Developing, deploying and maintaining server side logic in Java and Python.
• Designing data schemas and writing solid SQL behind them.
• Working to proper engineering discipline: Git for versioning, CI and CD through Jenkins or GitLab, rigorous automated testing.
• Running your work on Linux, with container engines such as Podman or Docker.
• Translating UI and UX designs into responsive web applications with Angular or React.
• Debugging older code bases and modernising legacy systems.
