Job summary

APM Terminals in The Hague seeks a seasoned Front-End Project Planner to develop and assure integrated project schedules for major investments, including terminal developments, M&A, and facility expansions.

You will coordinate inputs from internal teams, consultants, and suppliers, identify critical paths, risks, and mitigation strategies, and support governance with time-impact assessments and comprehensive reporting.

Qualifications

  • A continuous improvement mindset.
  • Leadership that consistently puts customers first and drives improvement.
  • Degree in a technical, engineering, construction, or project management-related discipline; project management certification is desirable.
  • 7–10 years of project planning experience, including ownership of project schedule development within complex capital projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (required), with good working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with tender planning, investment planning, contractor schedule management, or FIDIC-based projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrated master project schedules for bids and early-stage execution in accordance with APM Terminals standards.
  • Coordinate schedule inputs from internal teams, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to produce comprehensive project plans.
  • Analyse project schedules to identify critical paths, risks, delays, dependencies, and opportunities, and recommend mitigation and optimisation strategies.
  • Facilitate project scheduling workshops and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure schedule accuracy and alignment.
  • Support project governance by maintaining schedule assumptions, documenting changes, and performing time impact assessments.
  • Prepare project reporting materials, monitor procurement schedules, and support effective schedule hand-over to execution teams.
  • Promote best practices in planning, scheduling, reporting, and controls while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
