Job summary

g2 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Freelance Design Engineer for offshore wind projects in the Netherlands. The role is on-site with hybrid flexibility, initially a 12-month contract, and involves delivering robust engineering designs.

You will produce calculations and drawings, ensure compliance with DNV and Eurocodes, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams through design, fabrication and installation phases. Fluent English and 5+ years in offshore wind are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Offshore Engineering.
• 5+ years' engineering design experience within offshore wind, offshore energy, or marine projects.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of offshore structures and relevant industry standards.

Freelance Design Engineer | Offshore Wind | Netherlands

We're supporting a major offshore wind project in the Netherlands and are looking for an experienced Freelance Design Engineer to join the engineering team. 4-2 rotation

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and review engineering designs for offshore wind infrastructure.
• Produce calculations, technical drawings, and design documentation.
• Ensure compliance with DNV, Eurocodes, and project requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Provide technical support through design, fabrication, and installation phases.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Offshore Engineering.
• 5+ years' engineering design experience within offshore wind, offshore energy, or marine projects.
• Strong knowledge of offshore structures and relevant industry standards.
• Experience with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Tekla, STAAD, SACS, ANSYS, or similar.
