Job summary

Neways Electronics International NV is seeking a firmware designer to create and modify firmware for programmable logic devices such as FPGAs, handling hardware/software interfaces. You will define requirements, implement and test VHDL, and collaborate across software, hardware and electro-mechanical teams.

You will work in a dynamic, project-driven environment with state-of-the-art tech and a focus on practical, hands-on development while contributing to system-level solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering.
• At least 5 years of industrial experience in VHDL for FPGA design (RTL, synthesis, timing closure).
• Experience with FPGA design flow (Altera Quartus, Xilinx ISE) and functional/gate level simulation (Mentor Questa/Modalism).
• Familiar with FPGA debugging tools (ILA ChipScope, Signaltap) and lab equipment.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Java, Python; strong English communication.

• Drafting and reviewing specifications with customers.
