Job summary

Mistral is seeking a founding leader to build and guide the datacenter infrastructure team in Amsterdam. You will automate the full lifecycle from hardware bring-up to serving workloads, shaping the essential software stack that makes a sovereign AI compute platform possible.

You will own time-to-acceptance, drive efficiency, and partner with product teams to align capacity with demand across Europe. This role requires hands-on software work, plus leadership as the team grows.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building backend or infrastructure systems, with at least 2 years leading engineers.
• Deep Linux: you are comfortable well below the application layer.
• Hardware fluency: servers, GPUs, NICs, switches, firmware; read parts lists and topology diagrams.
• You have shipped production systems in Go and not just dabbled.
• Willing to travel to datacenter sites when required.
• Low-ego, team-first mindset and ability to lead engineers through growth.

Responsibilities

• Build the delivery pipeline in Go: provisioning, configuration, validation, burn-in, network bring-up, software stack install.
• Build the team from scratch: hire, onboard, coach, and set growth paths; establish tooling standards and repeatable playbooks.
• Own time-to-acceptance and drive it down by removing slow steps.
• Collaborate with Hardware Design and Fleet Health to improve reliability at delivery.
• Manage GPU fleets at scale: H100 and GB200-class nodes, InfiniBand and RoCE fabrics.
• Partner with Product Managers to plan delivery waves against capacity commitments.
