Job summary

Mistral is seeking a people-focused technical leader to build and scale our serverless container platform. You will manage a team, hire, coach, and guide architecture while staying close to code, balancing strategic decisions with hands-on delivery for AI workloads.

In this role you will own end-to-end container scheduling, image delivery, and scale-to-zero, operating on metal across our European datacenters.

Qualifications

2+ years leading engineers and teams.
Shipped production systems in Go.
Built container/workload platforms and orchestration features.
Deep Linux knowledge including namespaces and cgroups.
Experience with multi-tenancy, isolation, and fairness.

Responsibilities

Own the container platform end-to-end: image delivery, placement, routing, scale-up, scale-to-zero across CPU and GPU.
Improve cold-start behavior: snapshotting, prewarming, caching.
Treat AI workloads as the default: GPU-backed containers, streaming responses, long-lived connections.
Write Go alongside your team and own architecture decisions.
Grow engineers and set ownership standards; coach people beyond comfort zone.
Lead people management: hiring, performance, growth paths, feedback.
Partner with Product Managers to translate platform decisions into developer-facing products.
