Job summary

Yasu in Amsterdam is seeking a founding Cloud Engineer to join a hybrid team. You will onboard customers, identify real savings in their environments, and turn engagements into reusable patterns that ACE applies across clients.

You will own the FinOps strategy inside ACE, encoding rules into autonomous agents, and shape policies to enable safe, automated remediation in production. This is a founding role at a startup.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in cloud or platform engineering with cost optimization as a significant, provable part of your work.
• Experience across more than one cloud (Azure and AWS strongly preferred).
• Proficient in IaC: Terraform at minimum, ideally Bicep or CloudFormation.
• Strong scripting ability (Python, Bash) to automate workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the customer outcome end-to-end from onboarding to production validation.
• Act as the FinOps brain inside ACE, encoding patterns into agents for every customer.
• Design guardrails and policies to safely automate actions in production.
• Build the cost-capture engine to identify expensive decisions in PRs rather than invoices.
• Be the cloud SME inside the engineering team, turning field learnings into product patterns.

Job description

You've personally cut six or seven figures of cloud spend. Now imagine encoding that judgment into AI agents that do it for hundreds of companies, safely, in production. This role is hybrid in Amsterdam and open only to people who already live in the Netherlands and can commute. Applications from outside the Netherlands will not be reviewed.

We're Yasu. Cloud waste is a €500B+ problem that's exploding with GenAI adoption, and the way the industry handles it is broken: dashboards report waste after the money is gone, then humans are left to interpret charts and chase teams. We built the opposite. Yasu is an AI Cloud Engineer, powered by our ACE multi-agent architecture, that catches expensive infrastructure decisions at the pull request and autonomously remediates waste in live environments. It doesn't wait for humans to interpret reports. It acts. Automatically. Safely.

It's working. We're onboarding new Benelux customers month over month, with agents running in production environments and cutting cloud spend by up to 40%, and we're growing the team across sales and engineering to keep up. We're ISO 27001 certified, backed by leading VCs, and just getting started.

Now we're hiring the person who sits at the heart of this: our founding cloud engineer. This is a forward deployed role, half customer-facing, half product-shaping. You'll onboard customers, find real savings in their environments, and turn every engagement into patterns ACE applies across every customer that follows.

What you'll do

• Own the customer outcome, end to end. Run onboarding, get in the console with our customers' Platform and Cloud teams, find the savings, prove them in production.
• Be the FinOps brain inside ACE. Your patterns, your judgment, your rules, encoded into agents that run across every customer.
• Push the autonomy frontier with guardrails. Decide what's safe for agents to fix on their own. Design the policies that make customers trust autonomous action in production.
• Shift cost left. Build the engine that catches expensive infrastructure decisions in the PR, not the invoice. Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation.
• Be the cloud SME inside our engineering team. What you learn in the field becomes product, and every customer engagement becomes a pattern the next hundred customers benefit from automatically.

You are a great fit if you

• Have 4+ years in cloud or platform engineering where cost optimization was a significant, provable part of your work. You've personally cut six or seven figures of cloud spend.
• Have done it on more than one cloud. Deep on Azure or AWS, comfortable on the other. Our customers run both, and some of the biggest savings we find are on Azure.
• Live in the console and the IaC repo, not in slides. You know which workloads should never run on-demand, and where the money hides in a Kubernetes cluster.
• Write code to automate your work. Python, Bash, whatever fits. You don\'t click through 80 accounts.
• Know IaC properly. Terraform at minimum, ideally Bicep or CloudFormation too.
• Communicate like an engineer to engineers. You can run a working session with a Head of Platform, find savings in their console live, and write the runbook by EOD.
• Move fast and ship. You fix what you find.
• Background at AWS, GCP, Azure, or a high-growth infrastructure or DevOps tooling company
• Owned real FinOps numbers inside a mid-market or enterprise company
• Open source contributions in cloud, IaC, or FinOps
• Early engineer at a startup before
