Job summary

Artefact is seeking a Manager, Forward Deployed Engineering who combines hands-on technical leadership with people management to deliver AI products for clients, spanning architecture to production.

You’ll lead Deployed AI Engineers, set technical direction for Gemini Enterprise, Vertex AI, and the Google AI stack, and maintain senior client relationships while guiding delivery, pre-sales, and scalable engineering standards.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years software or data engineering with AI/LLM delivery.
• Hands-on with Google AI stack (Gemini, Vertex AI) in production.
• Experience owning client relationships at senior level.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery across one or more client engagements; architecture decisions and risk management.
• Set technical direction for interface design (TypeScript/React) and backend services.
• Manage Deployed AI Engineers: staffing, growth, delivery, and career development.
• Support pre-sales at a senior level: scope solutions and estimate delivery effort.
