Job summary

Tournament Software, a fast-growing international software company, is seeking a Financial Controller to own our finance function from day one. You'll manage day-to-day financial operations and professionalize planning, reporting, systems, and controls.

In this stand-alone role reporting to the CEO, you will grow into business control, translating data into insights for management, and overseeing SaaS metrics such as ARR, MRR, and churn as the company scales globally.

Qualifications

• A completed higher professional or university degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• At least five to seven years of relevant finance experience.
• Experience in a software, SaaS, or scale-up environment is a strong advantage.
• Experience with accounting software such as Exact, CRM and billing systems, and Excel.
• Strong analytical and process-oriented skills.
• Excellent command of English.
• The ability to combine hands-on execution with a strategic perspective.

Responsibilities

• Your operational foundation (from day one): Take ownership of financial administration, invoicing, accounts receivable, payments, and cash flow.
• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Safeguard tax filings and statutory compliance.
• Coordinate with our external accountant, auditor, banks, and tax authorities.
• Improve our financial, billing, and CRM processes and systems
• Growing into business control (over time): Prepare management reports, budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.
• Monitor performance against budget and advise management on opportunities and risks.
• Manage SaaS metrics such as ARR, MRR, churn, and recurring and deferred revenue.
• Develop dashboards and automate reporting and workflows.
• Help create client-facing dashboards that provide federations with valuable insights.

What will you do?

As Financial Controller, you'll own our finance function from day one. You'll keep our day-to-day financial operations running smoothly while professionalizing our planning, reporting, systems, and controls.

From that solid operational base, your role naturally grows toward business control: translating financial data into clear insights for management and supporting strategic and commercial decisions. In our subscription-based SaaS business, metrics such as ARR, MRR, and churn will become an increasingly important part of your work.

This is an independent, stand-alone position in which you report directly to the CEO.
