Job summary

Coinmerce seeks a Senior Financial Controller to oversee financial operations, accounting practices, and reporting from its Schiphol-Rijk office. You will ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and crypto-specific regulations while guiding senior leadership on financial strategy.

You will lead month-end closes, develop budgets, and drive improvements in financial processes and controls within a fast-growing crypto environment. English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar financial controller role, with a focus on crypto or fintech industries.
• Experience within a fintech or crypto environment is a strong asset.
• Strong organizational abilities and communication skills in English.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Netsuite, Exact) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Lead month-end close and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and crypto-specific regulations.
• Assist in budgets and forecasts aligned with business goals.
• Analyze performance and advise on financial efficiency and revenue growth.
• Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate reporting.
• Support recruitment and development of the finance team.
• Supervise valuation and accounting of cryptocurrency transactions and tax treatment.

About the role

As we continue to grow, Coinmerce is looking for a Senior Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations, accounting practices, and reporting. You’ll be a key player in helping senior leadership make informed decisions and ensuring that we maintain compliance with the regulatory standards in the rapidly evolving crypto industry.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

• Lead the month-end close process and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and crypto-specific regulations..

• Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, aligning them with business goals.

• Analyze business performance and provide recommendations for financial efficiency, cost optimization, and revenue growth.

• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate reporting.

• Support recruitment, training, and development of the finance team to ensure alignment with company goals.

• Supervise the valuation and accounting of cryptocurrency transactions, ensuring proper tax treatment and compliance with standards.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Previous experience in a similar financial controller role, with afocus on crypto or fintech industries.

• Experience within a fintech or crypto environment will be a great asset.

• Strong organizational abilities and communication skills in English.

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Netsuite, Exact) is a plus.

• Proactive, creative in finding solutions, and comfortable working independently or in a team.
