Job description

At Your.Online strategic growth and value creation are central to an ambitious buy-and-build strategy. As a Finance Controller, you play a key role in the financial onboarding, integration, and professionalization of newly acquired companies (Opcos) within the Performance segment.

The Performance segment builds and invests in companies for whom digital performance is business-critical (e.g. Managed Performance Hosters, Digital Agencies, Business Critical Application Hosters etc.). You will contribute to the further development and optimization of our segment portfolio of 10+ companies in Europe. For more information about the segment, please visit: Performance segment .

The role in our strategy

Your.Online operates a decentralized model: local companies retain operational autonomy, while the Group provides expertise, structure, and long-term capital. The Financial Controller is part of the segment financial team, that ensures high quality of financial and business reporting, monitoring compliance and provide support and guidance to the Opco’s.

Your key responsibilities

As Financial Controller you will be responsible for:

  • The Financial Control cycle of the segment holding entities. This includes monthly journal entries of the transactions and closing of the entities, preparing the budgets and forecasts of the holding entities
  • Processing complex accounting transactions, such as acquisitions and divestures, equity reconciliations, financing, etc
  • Managing and oversight over the intercompany workstreams (IC loans / Dividends / Management fees and other recharges) in cooperation with Y.O. Holding
  • Implementing and maintaining the ICFR- Framework (Internal Controls over Financial Reporting) for the holding entities
  • Coordinating the annual audit for the holding entities and the preparation of the financial statements and compliance related documentation
  • Supporting Segment Finance team related to ad hoc requests from Y.O. Holding and other stakeholders
  • Supporting finance and accounting activities to the Opco’s to ensure adequate and in time reporting
Success in the first year
  • The segment’s holding entities accounting, reporting, forecasting and cash management run accurately and on time, giving the Segment Finance Director reliable insight.
  • You are a trusted point of contact for financing administration and tax compliance topics, working effectively with Opco Finance Leads and Y.O. Holding Teams.
  • You have strengthened internal controls (ICFR) and accounting quality across the segment, with at least one visible process or systems improvement delivered.
  • You have improved the quality of financial accounting/reporting and compliance of the Opco’s.
Your team

You will report to the segment Finance Director and be part of a broader community of finance specialists within Your.Online. You will work closely with: Segment Finance Director (direct manager), Segment Finance Team (segment controller and finance specialist) Group Control & Reporting, M&A, and Business Development, Opco Finance Leads and local management teams.

Your profile
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Economics;
  • Broad finance background spanning accounting, consolidation and financial control – for example gained through a mix of an accountancy firm and an in-house finance role – rather than business control alone.
  • Affinity with corporate finance topics such as acquisition financing, purchase price allocations, earn-outs and post-acquisition integration, plus a working understanding of treasury, tax and internal control (ICFR).
  • Curious and improvement-minded, with interest in how systems, data and (AI) tooling can strengthen the finance function, and comfortable picking up new topics as the segment and its portfolio grow.
  • Hands-on, pragmatic and a strong communicator; able to build relationships with Opco teams, holding stakeholders and external advisors. Fluent in English; Dutch and/or other European languages are a plus.
What we offer
  • High impact Finance role
  • Ownership and responsibility within a decentralized, international setting
  • Ambitious, entrepreneurial colleagues and fast-paced environment.
  • Career development opportunities within Your.World group.
  • Hybrid working: Based in Amsterdam, with flexibility for working from home.
  • Competitive compensation: Salary, performance bonus, mobility budget and pension scheme aligned with your experience and contribution.
