Job summary

Weaviate is seeking a Working Student Finance to support day-to-day financial operations while exploring automation using AI tools. This remote role requires 16 hours per week with flexible hours, and a background in finance or accounting is preferred.

The position offers exposure to accounts payable/receivable, expense systems, and collaboration with an international, remote-first finance team. You will work with cutting-edge AI technologies in a fast-growing AI startup.

Qualifications

• Pursuing at least a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Admin.
• At least 1 year of accounting experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Dutch for Dutch accounting and banking systems.
• Hands-on knowledge of AI tools such as Gemini, Claude, Copilot, and ChatGPT.
• Strong communication and collaboration in a remote-first environment.

What you'll be doing

• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable (invoices).

• Managing and actively following up on queries in the central finance inbox.

• Executing operational tasks and controls within expense management systems such as Pleo and Ramp.

• Proactively identifying opportunities and advising on automating and optimizing financial operations using AI tools.

• Supporting the finance team with various day-to-day operational and administrative tasks.

What we are looking for

• Available for 16 hours per week, with flexible hours (preferably set at fixed moments).

• Currently pursuing at least a Bachelor's degree (e.g., in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field).

• At least 1 year of accounting experience (such as processing bank transactions and accounts payable/receivable).

• Someone with advanced proficiency in Dutch, capable of working with Dutch accounting and banking systems.

• Hands-on knowledge and experience with various AI tools, such as Gemini, Claude, Copilot, and ChatGPT, to enhance productivity and process efficiency.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, self-starter mindset suitable for an international, remote-first environment.

• Eager to learn and excited to contribute to the growth and continuous improvement of Weaviate's finance function.
