Job summary

Matrix Service is seeking a Tank and Specialty Vessel Welder to perform welding and grinding per job specs. The role involves planning layouts, reading prints, and maintaining strict quality and safety standards on site.

You will work with supervision and coordinate with field foremen to ensure safe, efficient welds and conformance to procedures. Weld tests include carbon steel and 9% nickel plate with stringent pass rate expectations.

Qualifications

• Pass weld tests for Carbon Steel Plate: FCAW 2G/3G/4G, SMAW E6010 3G Downhill, SMAW E7018 2G/3G/4G.
• Pass 9% Nickel Plate Test: FCAW ENiCrMo3T1-4 2G/3G/4G; SMAW ENiCrMo-6 2G/3G/4G; maintain 95-100% pass rate on weld exams.
• Must have Tank Building experience and TWIC card; pass background check; safety training.
• Must be willing to travel/relocate and work overtime.

• Efficiently produce quality welds.
• Perform or assist with fit-up and preparation of welds.
• Perform or assist with post weld cleanup, inspection, and repair.
• Communicate regularly with the Field Foreman regarding issues and concerns on the job site.
• Comply with all Matrix safety policies and programs.
• Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
