Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Field Service Technician - Data Center in Middenmeer to maintain and service Silent-Aire handling units within data centers. You will regulate air and water temperatures, inspect, maintain, and repair components to meet SLAs, and ensure safety and environmental standards.

You will engage with customers and operations teams, log work in the CMMS, and collaborate with subcontractors. Travel to other sites may be required based on workload.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years’ mechanical or electrical experience in data center environments or related industries.
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems and controls/monitoring in data centers.
• Quick learning and adaptability to new processes, procedures and equipment.
• Strong communication skills across levels.
• Proficiency in English; Dutch language knowledge advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
• Highly organized and proactive with flexibility to work varying hours.
• Valid driving licence and VCA - B course.

Responsibilities

• Manage all regional service calls and SLAs.
• Interact directly with customers for service requests and maintenance opportunities.
• Coordinate with the customer’s operations teams to ensure smooth operation of local assets.
• Report all work via CMMS (UpKeep Central).
• Collaborate with Mechanical/Electrical operatives or subcontractors as needed.
• Ensure work adheres to health and safety standards.
• Share updates with stakeholders on investments and decisions.
• Develop and feed a pipeline of opportunities and drive orders.
• Support growth of after-sales service and share best practices.
• Be prepared to travel to other countries and locations as workload requires.

Recognizing the value of Silent-Aire’s expertise, Johnson Controls, a leader in smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Silent-Aire, thereby expanding its already impressive product portfolio.

We are looking for a Field Service Technician - Data Center to join our team in Middenmeer.

What will you do

As Field Service Technician - Data Center you play a crucial role in maintaining optimal physical conditions and smooth operation of Silent-Aire’s Handling Units within the data centers in Middenmeer. Your responsibilities encompass a diverse range of tasks, including the regulation of air and water temperature. Additionally, you will be involved in the ongoing inspection, maintenance, and repair of various components within the data center to assess the overall functionality of these systems to meet Service Level Agreements for all Silent Aire units. Working closely with the Silent-Aire site Health & Safety Officer, you also prioritize and uphold environmental and safety standards to ensure consistent compliance.

How you will do it

• You are responsible for all regional service calls and Service Level Agreements (SLA) in place.
• You engage directly with customers to fulfill service requests and any maintenance opportunities.
• You engage directly with customer’s operations teams to ensure the smooth running of all local assets.
• Report all works undertaken via UpKeep Central maintenance Management system (CMMS).
• Work with all Mechanical / Electrical operatives or Sub contractors as required.
• Ensure all work undertaken is done in compliance with Health & safety standards.
• Share upstream customer information on investments, local influencers/decision makers.
• Works to develop, directly and through networks a qualified pipeline of opportunities, and then drives to convert into Service business orders.
• Work with management and colleagues to growth the after-sales service business and share best practice.
• You are prepared to travel to other countries and locations as required by workload.

What we look for

• You have at least 5 years’ mechanical or electrical experience, preferably from commercial, data center, high-tech, healthcare or manufacturing industries.
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in data center environments and controls/monitoring systems.
• Quick learning capabilities and adaptability to new processes, procedures, and equipment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and clearly at all levels.
• Proficiency in English language with additional knowledge of Dutch being advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
• Highly organized and proactive individual.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including 24/7 call out emergency cover.
• Valid driving license & VCA - B course.
