Job summary

Socomec Netherlands is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our expanding team. You will commission, service and troubleshoot UPS and energy storage solutions, working on-site with customers in data centers and industrial sites across the Netherlands.

You will train customers and distributors, maintain service records, comply with Dutch safety standards, and travel within the country and occasionally abroad as required.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proficiency in Dutch safety certifications, including VCA and familiarity with NEN 1010/3140 standards.
• Hands-on experience in commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of UPS or similar systems.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the Netherlands.
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Commission on-site installation and commissioning procedures for UPS and energy storage solutions.
• Diagnose, service and troubleshoot installed Socomec systems; perform preventive maintenance.
• Deliver training to customers and distributors to maximise system efficiency and safety.
• Adhere to health, safety regulations (PPE) and Dutch safety standards; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain spare parts stock records and provide reports to TOS and Aftersales admin.

Purpose of the Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be a key player in Socomec’s expansion in the Netherlands, focusing on the commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting of our industry-leading products, including UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems and our new energy storage solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in the rapidly growing data centre and renewable energy markets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Commissioning of New Products

• Apply installation and commissioning procedures on-site for UPS and energy storage solutions
• Customise system settings to align with customer requirements and specific site environments
• Conduct thorough system testing to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory standards
• Maintain and update technical databases (e.g., CIMSA and CIMeTECH)

2. Servicing and Troubleshooting

• Diagnose and resolve issues with installed Socomec systems, including UPS and energy storage products
• Perform preventive and curative maintenance operations in line with company specifications
• Provide feedback on recurring issues to the Technical Operational Support (TOS) team
• Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality service delivery

3. Customer and Distributor Training

• Deliver training sessions to customers and distributors, empowering them to maximise the efficiency and safety of Socomec systems
• Build sustainable relationships with customers through excellent communication and support
• Enhance distributor technical knowledge through targeted training programs

4. Health & Safety and Compliance

• Strictly adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
• Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with Dutch safety standards and company policies

5. Reporting and Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of spare parts stock, service activities, and customer interactions
• Provide timely and detailed reporting to the Aftersales admin team and Technical Operational Support (TOS)
