Job summary

Howden CPI Netherlands B.V., part of Chart Industries, is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team. You will assist with installation, commissioning and start-up of new compressor systems, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on rotating equipment at customer sites across the EMEA region, following safety and quality requirements.

This role requires hands-on technical skills, the ability to read simple drawings, and the capacity to coach junior technicians.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical background and knowledge of rotating equipment.
• Experience as a Technician (Service Engineer) is desirable.
• Good knowledge of maintenance concepts and process techniques.
• Strong safety and quality mindset; able to work independently or in a team.
• Willing to travel around 70% of the time and up to 9 weeks away from home.
• English language skills are essential; Dutch language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials and tools based on the scope of work to prevent delays.
• Perform service, repair or maintenance tasks under supervision of the Senior Technician.
• Control own work and correct where needed.
• Provide time lists and simple daily reports.
• Perform simple troubleshooting and escalate complex issues to the Senior Technician.
• Read simple technical drawings.
• Coach junior technicians on the job.
• Follow and report on safety and quality requirements.

We are now looking for a Technician to join our Field Service team and who will assist us in making a valuable difference in the century to come. We ensure that compressors continue to operate for years to come through maintenance plans, supply of OEM parts, service calls and equipment modifications to today's technology or changed operating conditions and repairs. The Technicians perform under supervision of the Senior Technician the installation, commissioning and start-up activities for new compressor systems, perform preventive and corrective maintenance on rotating equipment, particularly reciprocating compressors according according the customer’s set safety and quality requirements. In this dynamic position, you will be working on customer sites all in the EMEA-region.

What Will You Do?

• Make the necessary preparation based on the scope of work and collect the required materials and tools to be fully prepared to prevent delays according to the instructions of the Senior Technician.
• Perform all activities related to the service and repair or maintenance products taken on for service/repair under supervision of the Senior Technician.
• Control of own performed work and corrects where needed.
• Provide time lists and simple daily reports.
• Provide simple trouble shooting activities and take direct action to cascade complex trouble shooting activities to the Senior Technician.
• Reading of simple technical drawings.
• Coaching junior technicians on the job.
• Follows up on set quality and safety requirements. Observes and reports unsafe situations. Contributes to the improvement of own safety.

What do you bring?

• Relevant technical background (MBO) and knowledge of rotating equipment.
• Several years of experience as a Technician (Service Engineer).
• Customer focus, flexibility and a pro-active and constructive attitude.
• Experience in making reports.
• A good knowledge of maintenance concepts and process techniques.
• Strong safety and quality minded, enjoys working both independently as well as within a team.
• Willing to travel around 70% of the time and up to 9 weeks away from home and travel globally with sometimes a short notice period.
• English language skills is an absolute must, Dutch language skills is preferred.
