Job summary

JBT Marel is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, commission and service advanced machinery at customer sites worldwide. You will diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, focusing on electrical systems, PLCs and process control while interacting with international teams.

The role offers extensive international travel (50–60%), onboarding and a development track within a global organization. A degree in a technical field and strong English skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with or interest in industrial automation, PLCs, electrical systems, software or process control.

For JBT Marel, an international leader in advanced machinery and automated production lines for the global food processing industry, I am looking for Field Service Engineers to strengthen the growing Service Team in Boxmeer. In this role, you will work on innovative technologies at customer sites around the world. From installing and commissioning equipment to troubleshooting complex technical issues, you will play an important role in ensuring that customers' production processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Depending on your background and interests, you can focus on electrical engineering, control systems and PLCs, or on process control, software, data and industrial IT. Whether you are a recent graduate looking to develop your skills or an experienced engineer ready for a new challenge, there are opportunities to grow within this international organization.

What will you do?

As a Field Service Engineer, you will combine technical expertise with practical problem-solving and direct customer contact. Your responsibilities will include:

• Installing and commissioning machines, control systems and software at customer sites;
• Analysing and resolving technical issues and production-related challenges;
• Working with PLCs, electrical systems, software and/or process control solutions;
• Carrying out service visits and providing remote technical support;
• Training customers and collaborating with local teams and international colleagues;
• Keeping customers and internal stakeholders informed about project progress and service activities;
• Travelling internationally approximately 50–60% of the time.

• A degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, IT or a related technical field;
• Experience with, or a strong interest in, industrial automation, PLCs, electrical systems, software or process control;
• A practical, analytical and solution-oriented approach to technical challenges;
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset;
• A good command of English;
• A willingness to travel internationally and work in an international environment.
