Job summary

IFF Health in Leiden, Netherlands is seeking a Grain Processing Applications Technologist to be based onsite in Leiden, Netherlands. You will design, execute, and interpret laboratory experiments addressing customer questions in grain processing and fermentation, and simulate industrial starch processing and bioethanol workflows in the lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field.
• Hands-on laboratory experience in fermentation, biotechnology, food processing, enzyme applications, or industrial processes.
• Experience with HPLC and other analytical laboratory techniques.
• Strong capability to analyze experimental results and translate data into practical recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and interpret laboratory experiments to address customer questions related to grain processing and fermentation processes.
• Simulate industrial starch processing and bioethanol production processes in the laboratory to evaluate enzyme performance.
• Perform analytical testing and data analysis, including HPLC analyses, to generate reliable results.
• Develop technical recommendations that help customers optimize fermentation yields, process efficiency, and product performance.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Technical Service, Marketing, and R&D teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Support new product development projects by generating high-quality experimental data and technical insights.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and summaries that clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
• Provide support during customer visits, product introductions, troubleshooting activities, and plant trials.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of laboratory methods, capabilities, and application technologies.
