Job summary

Optics11 in Amsterdam is seeking a hands-on Technical Building Manager to keep our head office, production site, and external office locations running smoothly. You’ll balance maintenance, budget oversight, and day-to-day supervision of facilities and staff.

You’ll coordinate external technicians, monitor systems for improvements, and ensure access, security, safety, and compliance while collaborating with internal teams and partners.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance and repair knowledge.
• Experience in managing external service providers or technicians.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and independence.
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
• Forklift certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to communicate in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the optimal functioning of three locations through maintenance, budget management, and day-to-day supervision.
• Performing minor maintenance and repairs on buildings, installations, and furniture.
• Supervising and coordinating external technicians for routine and larger maintenance or renovation projects.
• Monitoring technical systems and identifying improvements or preventive maintenance needs.
• Supervising facility services like security, maintenance, cleaning, and waste management.
• Ensuring proper functioning of access and security systems such as fences, alarms, and surveillance cameras.
• Maintaining a safe, orderly, and clean building, including managing PPE.
• Organizing adequate company emergency response.
• Contributing to efficient collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

Job description

As a technical building manager, you are responsible for keeping our company buildings (head office, production site, and external office location) and all related facilities running smoothly and efficiently. You combine hands on experience with organizational insight.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the optimal functioning of the three locations through maintenance, budget management, and day-to-day supervision.

• Performing minor maintenance and repairs on buildings, installations, and furniture.

• Supervising and coordinating external technicians for both routine maintenance and larger maintenance, repair, or renovation projects.

• Monitoring technical systems and identifying the need for improvements or preventive maintenance.

• Supervising facility services like security, maintenance, cleaning, and waste management.

• Ensuring proper functioning of access and security systems such as fences, alarm systems, and surveillance cameras.

• Keeping the building safe, orderly, and clean, including managing personal protective equipment.

• Organizing adequate company emergency response.

• Contributing to efficient collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

Required Background:
