Job summary

Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre offers an internship in Restaurant & Bar operations, supporting the Restaurant, Lobby & Lounge Bar and In-room Dining. You will work with the team to deliver high‑quality food and beverage service to guests in Amsterdam.

We seek a motivated MBO/HBO student for at least 20 weeks, full shifts, and a chance to progress to F&B Waiter or Supervisor roles. Uniform, meals, and staff discounts are provided.

Qualifications

• Enrollment as an MBO or HBO student for a 20+ week internship.
• Able to explain drinks and dishes and serve them properly.
• Capable of handling guest questions, complaints and feedback.
• Willing to support F&B operations including temporary supervisor duties.
• Able to make drinks and take orders.
• Enjoy engaging with guests about their visit to Amsterdam.
• Available for flexible shifts across restaurant, bar and room service.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Supervisor and (Assistant) Manager to ensure smooth service during each shift.
• Support colleagues with complaints, questions, and feedback from guests.
• Place orders accurately and supervise staff when necessary.
• Conduct shift hand-overs and keep the next team informed.
• Carry out administrative tasks such as processing outsourced work requests and placing internal orders.
• Provide operational support to F&B teams and step in as a Supervisor when required.
• Prepare the restaurant for evening service and tidy breakfast areas.
• Refill drinks in the Lobby & Lounge Bar to maintain full stock.
• Engage with guests about their experience and offer recommendations about the hotel’s services.
