Job summary

Noorderlicht is a unique hospitality venue in Amsterdam serving as a restaurant, cultural space, and event location. We seek an Experienced Waiter/Waitress to welcome guests, advise on menus, and deliver excellent service across dining and events. You’ll work with the kitchen, bar, and events teams, staying calm during busy periods.

• At least one year of experience as a waiter or waitress in a professional restaurant.
• Strong hospitality and guest-service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist guests throughout their visit.
• Take orders, provide menu recommendations, and serve food and drinks.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming restaurant and terrace.
• Work with our Dish POS system and coordinate with kitchen, bar, and events team.
• Collaborate with colleagues across restaurant service, terrace, events, and festivals.

The role

As an Experienced Waiter / Waitress, you are one of the faces of Noorderlicht.

You welcome guests, advise them on our menu, serve food and drinks, and ensure every visitor feels genuinely welcome. You work closely with the kitchen and your colleagues, keep an overview of your section, and remain calm and professional during busy services.

You'll be working across restaurant service, events, and festivals, making every shift different.

• Collaborate closely with the kitchen, bar, and events team

Who are we looking for?

• At least one year of experience as a waiter or waitress in a professional restaurant is required
• A genuine passion for hospitality and guest service
• Strong communication skills and a professional attitudeThe ability to remain calm and organized during busy services
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
• Good command of English. Dutch is a strong advantage.
