Job summary

Sherlocked in Amsterdam is offering a full-time paid 10-month internship starting September 2026. You will work with our creative team on events, customer experiences and bespoke on-site games. As an events intern you’ll coordinate large-group activities, handle guest communications, and ensure hospitality from booking to on-site delivery.

You’ll help run our escape rooms and support ongoing improvements. The role offers a chance to explore a dynamic, design-led environment with remote-work

• Interest in coordinating events and managing guest experiences.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to changing plans.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and running events for large groups in Amsterdam.
• Provide customer support during escape room sessions and events.
• Coordinate bespoke on-site games and hospitality for guests.
• Get hands-on with running any of the three escape rooms when needed.

We’re Looking For An Events Intern To Work Alongside Our Creative Team Starting Around September (start Date Flexible) Focusing On

• Our new escape game for large groups in Amsterdam
• Customer support for our Amsterdam escape rooms, including our soon opening Sherlock Holmes adventure
• Custom event games on location

You’ll be working under the guidance of one of our secret weapons: Ella who prior taking over our operations at Sherlocked, ran her own legendary events studio. She’s also one of the loveliest people we know (she didn’t write this, I promise) and I can almost guarantee you’ll feel very lucky as her intern.

A Bit More About What You’ll Be Focusing On

• Large group games

We frequently host events at our headquarters for the 'mysterious travel chest game' Time Crimes

As an events intern you will communicate with both customers and game hosts, ensuring the location is prepared and taking care of hospitality on the premises.

In September we’re also launching our successor to Time Crimes, a maritime/pirate themed game called Parlay, for which you’d become the bridge between customer experience and our design team.

• Customer Support

Personalised editions of our adventures for special occasions (ie. for birthdays and engagements)

• Custom Event games

We’re Often Invited To Design Custom Event-based Games For Clients, Which Poses a Whole New Set Of Challenges That Will Require You At Your Sharpest To Navigate. The Video Below Gives a Peek Into Our Process For The Creation Of The Box Game

• Running & Improving our Escape Rooms

You’ll be trained to be able to run any of our 3 escape rooms, both for the purpose of improving them, as well as being able to run them in case someone on the team falls ill. You’ll use your knowledge of hospitality to improve our customers’ experience, from our website, customer service, to the on-location experience and beyond.
